The disclosure

Sheen Kit is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. This comes out of the retailer’s margin — it costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had reached the product any other way.

Which programs we use

The Amazon Associates Program is our primary source of revenue. We may also participate in other retailer and affiliate network programs covering hair, skin and tattoo equipment, in which case the same rules on this page apply to those links without exception.

Affiliate commission is how the site is funded. It pays for hosting, for the time spent reading manuals and specification sheets, and for keeping the guides maintained. Without it there would be no site, so we would rather explain it clearly than bury it in a footer.

How affiliate links work

When you click an outbound product link, the retailer may set a cookie that identifies Sheen Kit as the referring site. If you complete a qualifying purchase within that retailer’s attribution window, a commission is credited to us. We receive aggregate commission reports only — we do not see your name, your address, your payment details, or the individual items in your basket. What commission does not buy

• Placement. No brand, manufacturer or retailer can pay to appear in a guide, to be named as a pick, or to occupy a particular position.
• Copy. No commercial arrangement changes what a page says about a product, including the drawbacks.
• Silence. Where documentation shows a limitation, a compatibility problem or a safety concern, we publish it in the same guide that carries the affiliate link.
• Higher commission, better ranking. Commission rates vary between products and programs. We do not weight recommendations toward the ones that pay more.

We also do not accept paid guest posts, paid link insertions into existing articles, or sponsored reviews.

How recommendations are actually chosen

Products are selected on the strength of the verifiable record behind them: manufacturer specifications, published documentation, and patterns across verified owner reviews. Every entry carries a confidence tier describing how much of that record actually exists.

We do not test products on skin, and we never claim to have used them. Our recommendations are research-based, and their limits are set out in full in our Disclaimer. Please read it before relying on any guide here.

Prices and availability

We do not publish prices anywhere on this site. Retail pricing changes constantly, and a stale figure is worse than no figure at all. Whatever the retailer displays at the moment you click through is the accurate price. Availability, shipping, returns and warranty are matters between you and that retailer — we are not a seller and cannot process, amend or refund any order.

Your choice

You are never obliged to use our links. If you would rather search for a product directly, the guide is just as useful — the research is the product, and the link is only a convenience. If you do use them, thank you: it is what keeps the site independent of the brands it writes about.
