Privacy Policy
What Sheen Kit collects when you visit sheenkit.com, why we collect it, who else can see it, and how to get it removed. Written in plain English rather than boilerplate.

Scope
This policy covers the website at sheenkit.com and the email addresses published on it. It does not cover any third-party site you reach by clicking a link from here — once you leave, that site’s own privacy policy applies. By using Sheen Kit you agree to the handling described below.
We are a small publisher. We do not run user accounts, we do not operate a store, and we do not build advertising profiles. The data we hold is limited to what a website needs to function and what analytics needs to tell us which guides are useful.
What we collect
Two categories: information you deliberately give us, and information collected automatically as your browser loads pages.
| Data | How it reaches us | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | You email us, or submit a comment | To reply to you and to keep a record of corrections |
| Message content | You email us, or submit a comment | To answer the question and correct the site where needed |
| IP address | Automatically, on every request | Security, spam prevention, approximate country-level analytics |
| Browser, device and operating system | Automatically | To make sure pages render correctly across devices |
| Pages viewed, referring page, time on page | Analytics cookies | To see which guides are useful and which are failing readers |
| Affiliate click and referral identifiers | Cookies set by retailers when you click an outbound link | To attribute a purchase so the commission is credited |
We do not collect payment details, because we never take payments. We do not ask for health information, and you should not send us any — questions about a wound, a reaction or a skin condition belong with a clinician, not a website.
How we use it
- To operate and secure the website, and to keep it working across browsers and devices.
- To answer your emails and to log and act on corrections.
- To understand in aggregate which guides are read, which are abandoned, and where the site needs improvement.
- To detect and block spam, scraping and abuse.
- To attribute affiliate referrals so that qualifying purchases are credited correctly.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply to us.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list. We do not run a newsletter, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
Third parties
Some data necessarily passes through services we do not control. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement. It sets cookies and processes IP data to report visits, sources and page performance. We use it to see patterns, not individuals.
- Amazon Associates and other affiliate programs — when you click an outbound product link, the retailer may set cookies to attribute a resulting purchase. We receive commission reports, not your order details, your address, or your payment information.
- Our web host and content delivery network — these process requests and keep server logs including IP addresses, as any host must in order to serve a page and defend against attack.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our readers, or the security of the site.
Cookies
Sheen Kit uses cookies for essential site function, analytics and affiliate attribution. You can refuse or delete them through your browser settings, though refusing all cookies may affect how some parts of the site behave. The full breakdown is in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EEA
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, restrict or object to how we process it, and request portability. Our lawful bases are legitimate interests for site security and aggregate analytics, and consent where you have chosen to contact us or accept non-essential cookies. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.
If you are in California
Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email hello@sheenkit.com with the request and enough detail for us to identify the relevant records. We respond within 30 days, and we may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a deletion request.
Retention, security and transfers
Email correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for answering you and maintaining a correction record, and is deleted on request. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes. Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting configured in the analytics service.
The site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we hold. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process data on servers located in the United States and elsewhere; where personal data is transferred internationally, those providers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Sheen Kit is intended for adults. The site covers needles, solvents, adhesives and skin procedures, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email hello@sheenkit.com and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when our practices or the services we rely on change. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be described here rather than made silently. Questions about privacy go to hello@sheenkit.com.
